BrapClub
Jan 2025
I'm still determining what this will be, as the people in here will help determine the direction. I've been at this for a long time and have some fun techniques to share. If you like the unusual in rhythmic sound design, I will be a great resource. If you especially like industrial sorts of sounds, this is going to be a godsend.
I've spent years collecting machine sounds and am now making a library out of them such that I might forever just consult my own sounds to have inspiration and run with it. This will be 'machine hits' and loops made from those hits both, as well as other things I'll reveal as we go. To make certain of the value, I'll keep the barrier of entry low, but there must be a barrier of entry.
Joining BrapClub guarantees at least one sample pack every month, as well as access to content created from them, such that you can see how I will be using them, why I created them as I did. All samples are royalty free and the sort of crowd I expect to be interested in them should guarantee that everybody comes up with their own uses for them. I can actually make almost any sound into something completely different and enjoy doing so. :) That's sort of the essence of BrapClub, especially if you know what a 'brap' is.
Two levels of subscription, but everybody gets the same content. I'm not planning tutorials per se, but you can definitely learn from videos of my production and that is easy enough to record and share. I feel YouTube is saturated with production stuff and what I get up to will be pearls before swine in most cases if posted publicly, so I'm not aiming to be that guy. I want to find and hang out with my people, but also generate a living for my efforts. All the while, I'm going to get better and better at crafting sound and sharing the processes inherent.
I am self-taught and a wild genius in this way. I never was in much of a box to begin with, so I always seem to start outside of them. If that sounds useful to you, come join, maybe even collaborate with me. I'm very keen on working with younger producers, as you haven't formed much of a box around you yet to begin with. This is how music changes and I've always lived in that space, just didn't bother to share much of it as I went-- the learning is what drives me, not the sharing. It's time to shift that dynamic now. The more interest I can generate in this club, the more time I'll be willing to devote to it.
In the future, I have much bigger plans for this space and likely a tier just for video work, but for now I will focus in audio, which I am giving my 2025 to in full. I spent 2024 rooted in video and came a long way, but I've been rooted in audio production since about 1988.
BrapClub access comes with a free sample pack monthly, as well as access to whatever else I get up to for sharing in a month.
